A Capacity Building programme on “Bee Keeping” was successfully organized by the Regional Office - Kilinochchi of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and 28 Bee farmers are benefited in Jaffna on 24 February 2020.
Regional Office – Kilinochchi has been observed that higher demand for the milk toffee products in Sri Lanka and few designated suppliers are only available in Northern Province. Produced toffees are not chemicalized and making procedure for those is highly following the health instructions. However, packaging & cutting works are done by manpower and due to that reason, packaging and shape of the toffees are not attractive to the buyers and cannot display at the super market.
Considering above, a training programme on standardizes Milk toffee making using cow milk has been conducted at Yarlco, Jaffna for 16 entrepreneurs on 14 February 2020 with a view of upgrading milk toffee production to an international standard.
Regional Office – Kilinochchi decided to enhance the income of the rural low income families especially women and women headed families through several awareness and training programmes to conserve the genetic resources of indigenous chicken varieties.
In this planned series of the programmes, a training programme on” General Management on Poultry Farming” was conducted to the selected 34 livestock breeders on 11 February 2020 with the collaboration of the Veterinary Office – Kandavalai.
A training programme on “requirements to set up business ventures & Facilitates to improve their businesses and selling products online” was successfully organized by the Regional Office - Kilinochchi of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka for 96 SMEs in Jaffna on 13 March 2020.
04 training programmes on “book keeping” were successfully organized by the Regional Office - Kilinochchi of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka during the 1st half of 2020 to enhance knowledge on Book keeping of Farmers and 197 farmers were participated.
